At Hyde Fuel, We're Your Propane Pros!

When it comes to energy for your home, there's nothing like propane - the fuel for all seasons and all reasons.

You may choose between C.O.D. delivery, where you call us to have your propane delivered, or automatic delivery, where we monitor your fuel supply for you based on your usage history and weather conditions, and deliver your propane when you need it. In addition, we have 24-hour emergency delivery available - and if for any reason you run out of product, our drivers can relight pilots on a stove for you.

You may also refill barbecue or camp propane tanks at our facility at 196 Broadway in Saranac Lake. Our friendly staff is ready to assist you. (If your tank weighs 100 pounds or more, it must leave our facility standing upright to meet DOT regulations.)

Propane System Maintenance

Our expert, certified technicians perform periodic maintenance (a tune-up) on your propane equipment. Hyde Fuel's expert technicians can restore your system to peak operating condition with a periodic tune-up. There are many benefits to a tune-up:

  • You save money by reducing the amount of propane your system uses.
  • You conserve energy, which is good for the environment.
  • Your Hyde Fuel technician can detect problems before they become expensive, inconvenient repairs. We also perform annual safety checks. Most propane gas equipment manufacturers require an annual check to maintain efficiency and your warranty. Let our certified propane technicians perform your safety check - contact us for an appointment.

  • Home heating

  • Barbecuing
  • Heating your garage or extra rooms
  • Swimming pools
  • Hot tubs
  • Stoves or ovens
  • Fireplaces
  • Clothes dryers
  • Much more!

Propane Is Economical

Propane is cheaper than electricity. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, heating a home with propane over the last few years has cost significantly less than with electricity, and in most cases, about half as much, on average. And, over time, propane water heaters can cost one-third less to operate and recover water twice as quickly as electric water heaters.

Propane Can Make Your Life Easy

  • Propane is warmer than electricity. A propane gas furnace heats to about 130° to 140° and operates in short intervals to minimize operating costs. An electric heat pump produces heat below body temperature, so the air actually feels cooler when placing your hand in front of a vent.
  • Propane systems are more durable. Propane-fueled furnaces last 5 to 10 years longer than electric heat pumps, on average.
  • Propane is more dependable than electric. Propane can be stored safely in a tank on your property; electricity is subject to power outages.
  • With propane, what you see is what you get. While electricity is measured in hard-to-understand "kilowatt hours," propane is measured in familiar "gallons."
  • Propane is customer-friendly. Hyde Fuel offers friendly, 24-hour "I'll-be-right-over" service. You'll never be treated like a number.
  • Propane is clean-burning, non-toxic, has built-in safety properties and stringent safety regulations. As a propane customer, you can feel real peace of mind.
