How Hyde Fuel Helps

123rf_9014303_soy.jpg

We are dedicated to a net zero future and focus on changes we can make in front of us today. A future generated by solar and wind power may be possible in the future, but we at Hyde Fuel will supply the clean energy and lower carbon solutions that can help today.

Hyde Fuel offers you the cleaner heating solutions to improve your home’s efficiency and reduce your carbon footprint, including upgrades to your system that may be eligible for tax credits or rebates.

Alternatives to Electrification

As of July 1, 2023 Hyde Fuel will be supplying you with the solution to a net-zero carbon future with Bioheat® Fuel along and renewable propane which significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Bioheat® is a fuel that is made from renewable resources that reduces carbon emissions the moment you begin using it. A National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA) study showed that combining solar power and Bioheat® fuel could effectively provide net-zero carbon heating.

Propane also provides a low-carbon fuel alternative that produces 43% less greenhouse gas emissions (such as carbon and methane) than electrical power sources. It is also an extremely versatile fuel while also being efficient and non-toxic. Significant advances are even being made for renewable propane, being a truly net-zero carbon fuel.

Heat Pumps

We provide heat pumps because we believe that they are an important part of the solution, but they aren’t without their limitations. Heat pumps can only reliably heat individual rooms on days when it’s only relatively cold. To heat your entire home, you would need multiple pumps, which can cost anywhere between $18,500 and $42,000!

Another major concern with electric heat pumps occurs when temperatures drop. Heat pumps struggle to provide heat in colder climates, making it dangerous for our Tri-Lakes region to rely solely on electricity for their heat. In cold snaps, electric utilities warn people of power outages and to reduce electricity use; and in extreme circumstances The National Grid can decide to cut your power altogether. These incidents happen already, even without the increased demand for electricity that comes with electrification. In addition, more than 90% of homes with electric heat pumps continue using their original system as their primary heat source to avoid the risk of being without heat when they need it the most. The best savings come from using your boiler or furnace and switching to heat pumps for warmer winter days.

The future of renewable fuel starts today, and we’re here to help make it possible. You don’t have to work hard or worry to reduce your carbon footprint: our Bioheat® fuel and renewable propane work in the heating systems you already have.

Avoid becoming just another number at the electric utilities, and continue to rely on Hyde fuel for your local home comfort.
